Skupinová reakční performance na výstavě POKOJE (2022)

Performance vznikla jako přímá reakce na komercializaci a vyloučení v rámci výstavního projektu "POKOJE", kde nám doslova „nebyl dán pokoj“. Rozhodly jsme se nezůstat v pozici pasivního odmítnutí – vytvořily jsme si vlastní prostor a proměnily ho v akt symbolického odporu.
Sedíme v pokoji, jíme chleba a necháváme okraje. Téma výstavy znělo „na okraji“ – ale my nejsme na okraji. Jsme uvnitř, jsme přítomné, a přesto jsme ignorované. Odmítáme být odřezky systému, a tak odkrajujeme samy.
Performance osciluje mezi absurditou, kritikou a hravou ironií. Je gestem tichého protestu, sebeurčení a kolektivní přítomnosti ve chvíli, kdy nám bylo řečeno, že se nevejdeme.
Give Us a Room
A reactionary performance
This performance emerged as a direct response to commercialization and exclusion within an exhibition project "POKOJE" where, quite literally, we were not given a room. Rather than accept rejection passively, we created our own space and transformed it into a symbolic act of protest.
We sit in a room, eating bread, and leaving the crusts behind. The exhibition’s theme was “on the margins” – but we are not on the margins. We are here, inside, present – yet ignored. We refuse to be the discarded edges of the system, so we discard them ourselves.
The performance moves between absurdity, critique, and playful irony. It is a gesture of quiet protest, self-determination, and collective presence in a moment when we were told we didn’t belong.
